Unfortunately Iowa is one of the few states that does not have a medical marijuana system. It is also notorious for having strict marijuana laws, with more than 6,000 people arrested for marijuana related offenses in 2010 alone. First time possession of any amount can earn you 6 months in jail or a $1,000 fine.
