The only difference between Marinol and THC from cannabis, is that Marinol is synthesized in a laboratory: They are both delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol.
Hypocritically, however, the federal governement categorizes cannabis as a Schedule I controlled substance with no accepted medicinal use, while at the same time, allows big pharma to synthesize THC for, uh, medicinal use. So, while we don’t write prescriptions for Marinol, we do provide recommendations for cannabis use.
