It would depend on whether a patient is Type l or Type ll. CBD is mood stabilizing and has anti-psychotic benefits. THC elevates mood and is anti-psychotic at low doses. Patients with bipolar type l, which is accompanied by depression may do well with a CBD:THC ration of 5:1 – 1:1. Type l, which is more prone to manic episodes, may do better with a higher CBD:THC ratio of 10:1. With either type, the patient should be careful with the THC concentrations so as not to precipitate psychosis.
