Under CA law, if you possess a valid medical cannabis recommendation, you can cultivate cannabis for personal use in an area that is less than 100 square feet. It's important to note that local governments can restrict you to growing less than this. To remain in compliance with the law, you will need to check your local city and county ordinances in regards to their allowances for growing cannabis for personal use. Unfortunately, some counties have outlawed cannabis cultivation entirely even if you possess a valid medical recommendation.
