I'm stepping down of off klonopin and I'm wondering if you have any input about cannabis possibly helping with the debilitating side effects of the withdrawal or what to avoid?

Yes certain strains of cannabis can be beneficial as a replacement for benzodiazepines such as klonopin. Especially strains with a high level of CBD. I have spoken with many patients who have successfully weaned off of benzodiazepines with the help of cannabis. This is not an easy thing to do, as benzodiazepines cause dependence. This should be done very slowly and with the help of a healthcare provider.
